This is why I won't get a license

My mom and I almost got into a car wreck. This car in front of us stopped all the sudden, and for some reason our brakes didn't work. So to avoid slamming them at 35-40 mph, my mom swerved. We flew into a ditch, out of the ditch, into a field, and went sideways on the field.

I don't really remember much because I was curled in a ball on the seat screaming. O_O

And then tonight, mom had to go out to a really bad car accident. She's the medical examiner for the county so she does that a lot. It was two teenagers who hit a tree, and they burned up in the car. She's still out there trying to pull them out, and she's been there for about 3 hours.

And it's scary. Scary on one hand because that completely could have been us this morning. We were pretty lucky. Scary on the other hand because people my age keep dying. These are the fifth and sixth unnatural deaths of people in my area aged 15-20 since last September.
